૧	જુઓ, કાળતરુ પર આજે ઊઘડી નવીન કળી એક,
	સૌરભ તેની ખૂબ મઘમઘે માનવ તો હરખાય હરેક;
	કંચન કિરણધારી ભાનુ ઊગ્યો કરતાં ઝગઝગાટ,
	પામે નૂતન ચેતન તેથી, સકળ પશુ, જન, પંખી, ઝાડ.
૨	શીત સમીર બળિષ્ઠ ઘણેરો, વાયે જોર કરી સહુ ઠાર,
	ઊઘડેલી એ પુષ્પ કળી પર, નાચી રાચે અપરંપાર !
	બીજી એના જેવી કળીઓ ત્રણસેં ઉપર ચોસઠ જાણ,
	ઊઘડશે એ નિત્ય અકેકી, એમાં કૈં સંદેહ ન આણ.
૩	પ્રથમ કળી તે પ્રથમ દિવસ જાન્યુઆરીનો કહેવાય,
	નૂતન વરસ કહીએ તેને તે દિન આનંદ, ઉત્સવ થાય;
	તારણ સાધક પ્રેમ જણાવા, ઈશ્વર મહિમા ગાવા કાજ,
	ખ્રિસ્ત તણી વદવા શુભ વાતો, વરસ નવું બેઠું છે આજ.
૪	પ્રભુએ પાલન પોષણ કીધું, વરસ ગયું તેમાં નિત નિત,
	આધિ વ્યાધિ સર્વ નિવારી સુખી રાખ્યાં, કીધી પ્રીત;
	તારક, પાળક થઈને તેણે સહુને દીધું જીવનદાન,
	એ ઉપકાર ગણી સહુ તેને આપો ગૌરવ, સ્તુતિ, માન.

	Aadhi vyaadhi sarv nivaari sukhi raakhyaan, keedhi preet;
	Taarak, paalak thaeene tene sahune deedhun jeevanadaan,

1	Behold, on the tree of time today one new bud has opened,
	Its fragrance is richly spreading, every human rejoices;
	The sun bearing golden rays has risen, making all things shine,
	From it all beasts, people, birds, and trees receive new life.
2	The cold wind, very strong, blows hard and cools all,
	Upon that opened flower bud, it dances and delights without end!
	Know that there are three hundred and sixty-four more buds like it,
	They will open daily one by one, bring no doubt into it.
3	That first bud is called the first day of January,
	We call it the new year; that day becomes joy and celebration;
	To show saving love, to sing the glory of God,
	To speak the good tidings of Christ, the new year has come today.
4	The Lord gave care and nourishment, throughout the year that passed, day by day,
	Removing all troubles and sickness, He kept us happy and showed love;
	Becoming Savior and Keeper, He gave the gift of life to all,
	Counting that kindness, all of you give Him glory, praise, and honor.
