૨	સહું દેશોથી તે લીધી તોપણ તે એક જ ખાસ,
	એક જ ઈશ્વરનો વિધિ પાળી રાખે વિશ્વાસ;
	એક નામની સ્તુતિ ગાઈ એક કરે શુદ્ધાહાર,
	ને કૃપાથી છવાઈ ચાલે એક આશા દ્વાર.
૩	તેની મહા પીડા ધારી જગત નિંદાથી જોય,
	ફૂટો તેમાં હોય ભારી, દુર્મતથી દુ:ખી હોય;
	પણ સંતો તો પોકારે: "ક્યાં સુધી, હે ધણી?"
	રુદનની રાત્રી ભારે વીત્યે ખુશી ઘણી.
૪	માટે લડાઈ કરે ને વેઠે દુ:ખો હાલ,
	શાંતિની આશા ધરે કે મળે તે સહુ કાળ;
	ગૌરવને દેખી ત્યારે તૃપ્તિ થઈ જશે,
	ને જયવંત મંડળી ભારે શાંતિવાળી થશે.
૫	ભૂએ તે સંબંધ રાખે ત્રિએક પ્રભુ સંઘાત,
	ને ગુહ્ય સંગત દાખે વિશ્રામ પામેલા સાથ;
	હા, શુદ્ધ ને સુખી કેવા ! હે પ્રભુ, દે તે વાસ,
	તે નમ્ર જનો જેવા થઈ રહીએ તારી પાસ.

1	The Church’s foundation is one alone, the Lord Jesus bears it,
	He created it wholly anew by the Word and by water;
	From heaven He came down, know, to take the bride,

2	From all lands He took her, yet she is one special one,
	She keeps faith, observing the ordinance of the one God;
	Singing praise to one Name, she shares one holy food,
	And covered by grace she walks by one hope.
3	Bearing her great affliction, the world sees her with scorn,
	There are grievous divisions in her, she is grieved by evil thought;
	But the saints cry out: "How long, O Lord?"
	When the heavy night of weeping passes, there is great joy.
4	Therefore she fights and now endures sorrows,
