૨	શાસ્ત્રમનન ને આજ્ઞાપાલન, વિધિ પાળી બહુ હેતે.
	પામ્યો જ નહિ પાવનકર અગ્નિ, તારણ લાગે છેટે.
૩	ઈચ્છું છું બહુ કરવા સારું, દોડે છે મન પાપે;
	પાપ તણાં બીજ વસિયાં દિલે, એ મુજને સંતાપે.
૪	પ્રગટાવો, પ્રભુ, આત્મા-અગ્નિ, બાળો બીજ અકારું;
	પ્રભુ, જો દિલમાં રાજ કરો તો, જીવન થાશે પ્યારું.

1	Life passes swiftly in performing religious acts;
	The fire does not kindle to consume sin, the mind remains much troubled.
2	Scripture meditation and obedience to commands, I have kept the ordinances with much love.
	Yet I have not attained the sanctifying fire, salvation seems far off.
3	I greatly desire to do good, yet the mind runs toward sin;
	The seeds of sin dwell in the heart, and that afflicts me.
4	Kindle, Lord, the Spirit-fire, burn the useless seed;
	Lord, if You reign in the heart, life will become lovely.
