૧ જોખમમાં મુજ પ્રાણ હતો, બચવા નહિ આશા;
ચોગમ તો નર ઘાતકની ભયકારક ત્રાસા.
બહુ ગભરાટ થયો મુજને, નર ઘાતક ભાળ્યો;
રૂપ ભયાનક ઘાતકનું, મુજને ઝટ ઝાલ્યો.
૨ ઘાત કર્યો બહુ લોક તણો, જગમાં બહુ ફાવ્યો;
દ્વેષક તેમ જ પ્રાણ તણો ભમતો નર આવ્યો.
ઉત્તમ પાળક ખ્રિસ્ત મળ્યો, નર ઘાતક નાઠો;
તે પળથી મન શાંત થયું, સુણતાં શુભ ઘાંટો.
૩ ઉત્તમ જે ભરવાડ ખરો, નિજ મેષ બચાવે;
વાઘ, વરુ નહિ નાશ કરે, બહુ હામ ચલાવે.
ઉત્તમ જે ભરવાડ ખરો, નિજ મેષ બચાવે;
જોખમમાં નિજ પ્રાણ ધરે, નર દુષ્ટ હઠાવે.
૪ ઉત્તમ પાળક ખ્રિસ્ત ખરો, બહુ પ્રેમ ભરેલો;

યુદ્ધ કર્યું પરમાર્થ ધરી, પગ, હાથ વીંધાયા;
પ્રેમ અપાર હતો મનમાં, દુ:ખ શિર ઉઠાયાં.
૫ ઘાતકનું શિર ચૂર કરી બળ ભંગ કર્યું છે;
તો જયકાર કરો સઘળાં, શુભ ત્રાણ થયું છે.
ઉત્તમ પાળક ખ્રિસ્ત તણે શરણે સહુ આવો;
તો છૂટશો નર ઘાતકથી, સુખ ધામ સિધાવો.
