૧	પ્રગટ થશે રે ઈસુ કયારે ? કયારે પ્રભુ દેખાય?
	કયારે ઉદય થયાને કાજે ઉગમણ લાલ જણાય?
	વાટ ઘણી અમ જોતાં બેઠા, જાગ્યા આખી રાત,
	કયારે બૂમ પડે કે આવ્યો ભક્ત તણો શુભ નાથ?
૨	એક પછી બીજો પરલોકે, સ્નેહી એકે એક;
	સંગ વિના અમ એકલવાસે ખિન્ન છિયે, વિણ ટેક.
	મિત્ર ગયા ત્યાં રાત નથી રે, કળિયે એ સત વેણ,
	તોય વિજોગપણાને દુ:ખે બેઠા આખી રેણ.
૩	હમણાં રજની છે બહુ કાળી, દુ:ખ ઘણું ને શોક,
	છે સંદેહ ઘણા મન માંહે જાણે આશા ફોક.
	તન મનનો એ થાક ઘણો છે, જોતાં પ્રભુની વાટ;
	મુખ વિકરાળ કરીને રહે છે, ચોગરદા ગભરાટ.
૪	અરે પ્રભાત તણા શુભ તારા, તારી જોત જણાવ;
	તુજ ઉપકીર્ણ તણે અજવાળે માન્ય થશે અમ ભાવ.
	સૂર્ય તણા પરિપૂર્ણ પ્રકાશે તૃપ્ત થશે અમ આશા,
	ત્યાં લગ કંઈ અંધાર દબાવી આપો અલ્પ પ્રકાશ.
૫	હે પ્રભુ, વાક્ય ખરું છે તારું, "વીતી રાત જનાર;
	અજવાળાની જીત થવાની, ધન્ય પ્રભાત થનાર."
	વેણે જશે ન વ્યર્થ એ જાણી ધરીએ દઢ વિશ્વાસ;
	આ સુખદેણ વચનમાં હર્ખી નહિ તજીએ શુભ આશ.

1	When will Jesus appear? When will the Lord be seen?
	When, for His rising, will the red dawn appear?
	We have sat watching the way for long, awake the whole night,
	When will the cry be heard that the blessed Lord of His devotees has come?
2	One after another to the other world, dear ones one by one;
	Without their company we live alone, sorrowful, without support.
	Where friends have gone there is no night, so says the true word,
	Yet in the pain of separation we have sat the whole night.
3	Now the night is very dark, with much sorrow and grief,
	There are many doubts in the mind, as though hope were vain.
	Great is the weariness of body and mind, while watching for the Lord's way;
	All around remains dreadful-faced terror.
4	O blessed stars of the dawn, show your sign;
	By your scattered light our hope will be confirmed.
	In the full brightness of the sun our hope will be satisfied,
	Until then, pressing back some darkness, give a little light.
5	O Lord, Your word is true, "The passing night will go;
	The light shall win, the blessed dawn shall come."
	Knowing that the word will not go in vain, let us hold firm faith;
	Rejoicing in this comforting promise, let us not forsake blessed hope.
