	જ્યારે નિષ્ફળ જાય સૌ મદદ ને આશ્વાસનો ના મળે,
	ત્યારે નાથ! અનાથના મુજ ધણી! સાાથે, પ્રભો! તું રહે.
૨	ટૂંકી છે મુજ જિંદગી ઝડપથી વેગે વહી જાય છે,
	ઝાંખાં થાય ઉમંગ, માન, મહિમા વીતી બધું જાય છે
	ચોપાસે વસમા વિકાર સઘળે ને નાશ તો થાય છે,
	ત્યારે હે અવિનાશ ને અવિચળા! સાથે, પ્રભો! તું રહે.
૩	છેલ્લી આ પળ એક એક કપરી તારા વિના જાય ના,
	તોડી કોણ શકે? તમામ બળને માયા અને મોહનાં;
	બીજું કોણ બતાવશે પથ મને આશ્રો બીજું કોણ દે?
	છાયામાં અથવા પ્રકાશ-તડકે સાથે, પ્રભો ! તું રહે,
૪	ના લાગે રિપુ બીક, આશિષ મને આપો લઈ ઓથમાં,
	લાગે આપદમાં ન ભાર, કટુતા ના હોય કો આંસુમાં
	ક્યાં છે ડંખ હવે જરા મરણનો? ક્યાં બીક કબ્રે રહે?
	ખાત્રીદાયક વાત છે વિજયની જો મુજ સાથે રહે.
૫	મારું મોત ખચીત છે નિકટ જો આંખો ઢળી જાય છે,
	તારી થંભ ધરી સમીપ નયને મોતની યાદ દે;
	રાત્રી જાય, સ્વરે પ્રભાત પ્રગટે એ રાહ દેખાડજે,
	મારા જીવનમાં અને મરણમાં સાથે, પ્રભો ! તું રહે.

5	Maaru mot khachit che nikat jo aankho dhali jaay che,
	Taaro thambh dhari sameep nayane motani yaad de;
	Raatri jaay, sware prabhaat pragate ae raah dekhaadaje,

	Fervor, honor, and glory grow dim; all passes away,

	Who can break all the powers of illusion and attachment?
	Who else will show me the path, who else will give me refuge?
	In shadow or in blazing light, abide with me, O Lord,
4	I do not fear the enemy; give me blessing, taking me into shelter,
	In trouble the burden seems not heavy, nor is there bitterness in any tear,
	Where now is the sting of death? Where does fear remain in the grave?
